  1. I’m just getting started with selling online. I’m finding that my time management skills are really poor. If it’s not too intrusive, would you mind sharing what a typical work day/week looks like, I’d really appreciate it. Or if you have already addressed a question like this in a previous blog, just point me in right direction. Thanks!

    1. Hi Laura,
I’d love to help you out, but unfortunately my time management skills leave much to be desired at the moment! In general I try to break my days into 3 parts: before lunch, after lunch and after school (when I pick up my girls from school) and plan tasks according to those time frames. Once I get a good consistent system working, I’ll update you! :)

  2. Hi Daniel!

I would personally like to thank you for your E-Book (system start -up).
It’s really amazing and has changed me within 1day. I mean my self confidence, open minded, willing to take action. .. i can’t list all of the feelings that I’m having right now.
It’s been ages since I’ve been looking for what to really do, i started a taxi business but unfortunately it didn’t succeed.

I have always been a risk taker.

I already have a capital but didn’t know what, where and when to start something. But know i got a clear point of view.

    Thanks a lot
    Stay Blessed

    1. Wow! This is awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! Wishing you the best. If you already have capital, you’re already ahead of where I started! Enjoy the journey!

      1. Hello Daniel!

I just bought your new book SIX STEPS SIX FIGURES SYSTEM for 6£ as i’m in the UK.
So can’t wait to finish it and start tacking actions.

I also got some questions that i would like to ask,
I’m in the Uk and planning to sell on do you think that jungle scout could help me in my researches??

        thanks again

        1. Awesome! I think the book will help you out a lot! If you’re looking to sell on, nearly everything transfers over well (From The Jungle Scout Tools were created for the U.S. site ( and I don’t think they have a U.K version yet. However, I can tell you as a subscriber (I use the web app) that the tool has been really great at finding niches! I don’t always target the exact products I find (though sometimes I do) It more gives me IDEAS of what areas to look in! The tool’s helpfulness will apply in this area whether it be for selling on,, your own website or anywhere else!

Also, in some ways, you will have an unfair advantage in that you can find niches that are very profitable and have very high demand, but are already saturated in the U.S. You have the advantage of tapping into these niches in the U.K with FAR less competition (I sell in the U.k as well and have found it MUCH easier to break in to my niches there!) Also, you may find some products that are available (and hot) on that are not yet available on These are golden opportunities. With these products, you can basically just buy them, list them and they will start selling with little to no promotion. This has been my experience. Hope this helps!

  3. Daniel,

I’ve tried to purchase\download your book from amazon 3 times. I have yet to receive it becuasenit says its taking too long to download. Any insight as to how I can get access to it?

I was so excited to start reading it :(

    1. Hi Viv,
I’m so sorry about this! Are you using a kindle, or a tablet or a PC to read it? Amazon will probably be able to help best. Their customer service number is: 1 (888) 280-4331 (I don’t directly distribute the book. I wrote it, but the payment processing and distribution goes through them)
However, I’m happy to help however I can!

  4. Hi Daniel,

I’m in the process of setting up an LLC and am looking at insurance options, however, I’ve found it really difficult to get in touch with an insurance broker who knows the Amazon FBA insurance requirements and some have even told me that they don’t cover products being shipped to the US from other countries e.g. China.

Do you have any advice on how I could obtain Commercial General Liability Insurance? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    1. I ran into this same issue Sam! I ended up going with a local insurance group (Aspen insurance group) which is less than $500 a year. I would recommend calling your local insurance brokers and keep trying until someone can help you. I had to call about 5 or 6 of them before someone was helpful. Also, you may want to poke around on Amazon seller forums and facebook groups. There may be some good advice on there as well. Hope this helps!

  5. Hi Daniel,

I’ve been a subscriber now for several months. Your six step book says “free for subscribers”. Could you kindly send it to me for download?

    Thanks :-)
    Maureen Frey

    1. Hi Maureen,
Thanks for your interest! When the book was first released about a year ago, I gave it away to (then) current subscribers as a one time promotion. It is now $9.99. Sorry for the confusion!

  6. Does your book teach how to source from China and have your product shipped directly to an FBA warehouse? I don’t want to have items shipped to me then I have to ship to Amazon.

    1. Hi Mike,
Yes, shipping directly from China to Amazon is what I do and teach. The book “six step six figure system” includes a supplementary ebook that describes how to do this. Note that it is not an extensive book on importing, but it provides more than the basics and will get you to where you want to be. Hope this helps!

  7. Thank you for all the useful content you created on selling at Amazon.
Tried to purchase your book, Six Step Six Figure System at Amazon. But it says “This title is not currently available for purchase”.
Am keen to learn more from your book as I am new at this. If it is no longer available at Amazon, can I pay you via PayPal while you send me the book? Thanks

    1. Sorry about this, I’m not sure what happened. You can find it HERE

If you’re outside of the U.S. or continue to have problems, please feel free to write at daniel(at)atlittlesliceofthepie(dot)com and I’ll get this figured out for you. Thanks!

      1. Again it says “This title is not currently available for purchase”. Wish I can show you the screen capture.
Not sure if it is due to the fact that I am residing out of USA.

        1. Ah yes, this is because you are outside of the U.S. The book is actually available on every major Amazon site. Check your local site for it. If you can’t find it, please write me and I’ll get it to you. Thanks!

  8. Hello, Daniel:
Awesome book… and blog we keep coming back for more great info.
I’ve been struggling in my efforts in getting reviews on my products and after reading your book, I was wondering if you had any tips or tricks that I haven’t tried yet. I’ve seen you and others get consistent reviews, where their reviews climb weekly, but I can’t seem to get but a handful.

    So far I’ve tried:
    - 2 iterations of product inserts
    - 2 Iterations of follow up emails. (The customer receives one before the product ships, after they receive it, then one last follow up)
    - A launch list, where we give free products in exchange for an Amazon review, and to ensure they do it, we offer Amazon gift cards to random reviewers.
    - Tomoson (blog reviewers / you tube reviewers)
any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    1. Hi Timothy,
Sounds like you’re doing everything right- the same strategies I use. Product reviews are incredibly hard to get (because there is really no pay off for the customer). It usually takes 50 or more sales to get a single review. The most effective strategy is to give away a product in exchange for a review (because that is when the customer has good motivation to do so!) I have now built up a list of reviewers as it sounds like you have as well, but there are also communities of reviewers online. The first place to look is Amazon’s top reviewer list. Sorry I can’t help more- it really sounds like you’re doing everything right. The key is to get a few reviews initially and then work toward volume of sales. Once you get some serious volume, the reviews will come- slowly but surely!

  9. Hi Dan, hope well. just thought i go through your new book but is it available in other formats other than Kindle? thanks

    1. Hi Ola,
Unfortunately, Kindle is the only format this book is available in currently (though you don’t need a kindle to view it- you can download Amazon’s kindle apps and software for your PC or any device). Within the next few months my agreement with Amazon will be up and I may release it in other formats. Thanks for your interest!

  10. Reading your book now. Cant wait to get through the whole thing. Anyhow I just had a question regarding setting up the DBA name.

Is there a recommendation to how to choose a business name? In other words, should it be very generic or very specific to a type of product we intend to sell? Im leaning toward the generic side since Im guessing we’ll be selling various products but just wanted to make sure before I set it up.

    1. Glad to hear you’re getting use out of the book!
I would definitely recommend a generic name for your DBA. The fact is, you never need to use the name publicly if you don’t want to (I don’t). Your business name is only the legal side of things- so the IRS and the state know who you are. You can use whatever name you’d like online (and you can change your name as many times as you’d like on Amazon)

For instance, your business name may be “ABC Marketing”
Your storefront name on Amazon may be “Bill’s Fishing Shop”
Your storefront on Ebay may be “Gretchen’s Pets”
and you may have 3 websites:

I just made all of those up, but you get the idea. Your LEGAL business name is not an important part of your brand.
Your displayed name is more important, but on Amazon and Ebay, I prefer to use generic names as well (to keep my options open). Once you build a website, you may want to pick a domain that is more geared toward your niche (see above for examples off the top of my head)

      Hope this helps!

      1. Thanks so much for the clarification and such a quick response! What you said makes perfect sense. Im on my way now to LegalZoom to set this up.

        Thanks again!

  11. I am soooo looking forward to your new book! Will it have info on setting up your tools (such as Android phone, price/rank service, etc)? Also will it include how to check the current price and sales rank of books one finds at a garage sale or thrift store? I just recently bought an Android phone and have bookmarked some websites ( but I’m not sure how all these tools work together.

    1. Hi PJ,
I’m excited about the release of the book too. I think it’s really going to benefit a lot of people! I think what you’re asking will be covered (if I understand correctly) I talk about various apps, programs and websites to use and briefly go over their benefits. If I left anything out though, feel free to contact me anytime and I’ll be happy to elaborate! Thanks for your continued support!

  12. Hi Daniel!
    Congratulations for your new book!

I can’t wait to see your new book. As you know, last year when I started my Amazon FBA business, your book is what gave me the push start that I needed to take action.

My business is only part time but I have been doing pretty good with Retail/Online Arbitrage with dvd movies, shoes, clothing, grocery, beauty, health care, and other media items.

I need a second push start to help me take that big desicion of leaving the 730am to 400pm job and become a full time online entrepenuer.

Maybe your second book holds the answer for my to take that big desicion.

    1. Hi Ed,
Great to hear from you! I’m super excited for that for what you’ve been able to accomplish! I actually used a couple of your ideas that you gave me permission to include for generating start up capital in my new ebook “System Start up”- have you seen it? I mentioned you in the notes! I’ll send you a copy just in case. I think you’re really going to like the newest book as it goes into a lot more detail particularly in the areas you’re thinking about (wholesale and private labeling). Hope it helps!

    1. I’m honored that you would ask this! Unfortunately I don’t offer private coaching at this time. I may open this up in the future, but currently, I have too many projects going on and have been helping my Dad and another friend with their businesses. Once these get to a good place, however, I may consider it. Thanks for your interest!

    1. Hi Mike,
For 2 accounts, I sent an email to Amazon explaining that I had a legitimate business need for a second account. This was when my first account already had an established history and was in good standing. The second account was to expand to other niches that were difficult to do in the first account due to the “branding” I had put on it (it was limited to a very narrow niche)

      Hope this helps!

  13. Hi Tim,
I stand corrected! I just did some quick research on seller forums and elsewhere and confirmed that this is “required by not enforced.” Nonetheless, I’m thinking it would be wise to be a bit more proactive now that I have this new knowledge. Looking forward to hearing back from you if and when you find a contact for coverage. Thank you for your bringing this to my attention!
